Welcome to SMG Intern Echoes!

Hi everyone!  Welcome to SMG Intern Echoes!  This blog is designed to showcase the work of the SMG Interns.  Through our blog, you will get a first hand look at the life of an SMG intern and learn about the different intern positions that Starcom has to offer.  Whether it is a graphic design internship, a media planning, research, or a communications internship, here at SMG we have endless opportunities for students.

While this blog will be a platform to illustrate our intern projects, it is also more than that.  This Intern blog—SMG Intern Echoes—will actually be MY main project that I work on all summer.  I have pioneered the project so far and I will continue to develop it throughout the duration of my internship.

My name is Toni and as SMG’s Global Communications Intern I wear many different hats, with every new day being different from the last.  I come to you all from cubicle 7142 on the 7th floor of 35 W. Wacker, where I create magical designs, witty tweets, and research endless topics day in and day out.

This summer we have the best and the brightest students from University of Wisconsin, University of Missouri, University of Illinois, University of Iowa, Ohio University, University of Notre Dame, Colgate University, Boston University, University of Chicago, Loyola University, Northwestern University, New York University, and so many more top tier schools in the country.

I’ve also created the intern informational posters, hanging on our walls.  Now I feel like I know all 49 interns personally, including the Detroit, LA, and New York interns.  I’ve hunted them down for pictures, had continuous email conversations, and have made many new friends in the process.

These outstanding interns will take turns posting to the blog and by the end of the summer we will learn the ins and outs of an internship with SMG.  We will take an in depth look at many different topics such as the application process, an intern’s first day, different projects interns are working on and more!  We will include pictures and videos too!

So stay tuned for our very first post!  We look forward to showing you all about our exciting summer to come!
